1994-006-RES WHEREAS, UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE IDENTIFIED THE NEED FOR FACILITIES TO DATE RESOLUTION NO. 94-006 WHEREAS, the United States Postal Service has for some time identified the need for facilities to accommo- date handicapped persons; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris recognizes and concurs with such identified need; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the United States Postal Service is in the best position to assess its needs and the area in which such a facility should be located, and having made such determination, as shown on Exhibit A, attached hereto, the City Council should support the selection of such area absent specific identifiable reasons to object to such area; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that it does hereby go on record as supporting the United States Postal Service I s selection of the area in which to locate an additional postal facility to provide service to persons desiring or needing handicapped accessible facilities and other postal patrons. We wish to establish a new facility which will enhance both the quality of postal services we provide to your community and our employees' working conditions. We have determined that the new facility should contain ideally, approximately 1856 square feet of net interior space to provide retail and post office box service. Also, we propose that the facility should be located with the following area: North: Loop 271 & Highway 82 East: Loop 271 & Highway 286 South: Jefferson Rd. West: Collegiate The Postal Service desires to work closely with your community to achieve a mutually beneficial postal facility.
