1990-042-RES WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris at its regular meeting on September 18, 1989, in No. 89-034 RESOLUTION NO. 90-042 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did in at its regular meeting on September 18, 1989, in Ordinance No. 89-034 approve the advertisement for bids for furnishing plant, labor, materials and equipment and performing all work required for the construction of a new metal roof for the Water Billing Office Building which bids were received until 3:00 o'clock P.M., Monday, April 23, 1990; and, WHEREAS, the best bid for such construction was made by Highway 82 Welding Shop and it should be awarded the bid for such construction; and, WHEREAS, the form of contract for such construction project is attached hereto as Exhibit A, should be approved, and the Mayor, should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That the Bid of Highway 82 Welding Shop, for the construction of a new metal roof for the Water Billing Office Building in the amount of $5,350.00 is hereby accepted and let conditioned upon said contractor meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the bid documents; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S. Clifford, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the contract with Highway 82 Welding Shop for the construction of a new metal roof for the Water Billing Office Building, upon the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A attached hereto. Clifford, duly authorized, hereinafter called CITY and Highway 82 Welding Shop, by and through its owner, John Madewell, hereinafter called CONTRACTOR, do hereby contract and agree as follows: 1. That CONTRACTOR agrees to perform all labor and furnish all materials for furnishing plant, labor, materials and equipment and performing all work required for the construction of a new medal roof for the Water Bill ing Of f ice Bu i ld ing, in accordance with the specifications on Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof. 2. That CONTRACTOR agrees to begin construction within thirty (30) days from the bid opening date of April 23, 1990. 3. That CITY agrees upon completion of construction of a new medal roof for the Water Billing Office Building to pay CONTRACTOR the amount submitted in bid document, said amount being $5,350.00.
