1990-018-RES WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of at its regular meeting on September 18, 1989, in No. 89-034
RESOLUTION NO. 90-018
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did
at its regular meeting on September 18,1989, in Ordinance
No. 89-034 authorize the advertisement for bids for
furnishing labor, materials and equipment and performing all
work required for the installation of carpet at the City Hall
Building located at 135 1st Street S.E., Paris, Texas, which
bids were received until 3:00 o'clock P.M., Tuesday,
February, 6, 1990; and,
WHEREAS, the best bid for such carpet and installation
was made by Plaza Floor Covering, Paris, Texas and it should
be awarded the bid for such carpet and installation; and,
WHEREAS, the form of contract for such carpet and
installation project is attached hereto as Exhibit A, should
be approved; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That the Bid of Plaza Floor Covering, for the carpet
and installation at the City Hall Building located at 135 1st
Street S.E., Paris, Texas, in the amount of $6,614.72 is
hereby accepted and let conditioned upon said contractor
meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the
bid documents; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City of
Paris, Eric S. Clifford, be, and he is hereby authorized and
directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the contract
with Plaza Floor Covering for carpet and installation, upon
the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A
attached hereto.

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
THAT, the CITY OF PARIS, Paris, Texas, a municipal
corporation, acting by and through its Mayor, Eric S.
Clifford, duly authorized, hereinafter called CITY and Plaza
Floor Covering, by and through its owner, John McIntyre,
hereinafter called PLAZA, do hereby contract and agree as
follows:
1. That PLAZA agrees to perform all labor and furnish all
materials for installing carpet at the City Hall Building,
located at 135 1st Street S.E., Paris, Texas, in accordance
with the specifications on Exhibit A attached hereto and made
a part hereof.
2. That PLAZA agrees to begin installation within thirty
(30) days from the bid opening date of February 6, 1990.
3. That CITY agrees upon completion of installation of
carpet to pay PLAZA the amount submi tted in bid document,
said amount being $6,614.72.

SPEC I FICATIONS
CITY HALL CARPET PROJECT
1. The Carpet specified shall be Armstrong Commendation made of 100%
nylon with unitary backing and a pile weight of 28 (Junce Antron
Nylon per sq. in. or an approved equal.
2. Bid price will include the cost of removing and carrying off all
. existing carpet.
3. Bid price will include all labor to remove and replace all
furniture in location removed from. '
4. Glue for gluing the carpet to the flooring shall be Armstrong 10
or Henry 251.
5. The area to be carpeted shall be the enti re 2nd & 3rd floors of
the City Hall Building located on the N.E. corner of 1st S.E. &
Kaufman with the exception of the following:
1 - 2nd FLOOR MAIL ROOM
2 - 2nd FLOOR CUSTODIAL CLOSET
3 - 2nd FLOOR MENS AND WOMENS RESTROOMS
4 - 2nd FLOOR VAULT ROOM IN FINANCE OFFICE
5 - 2nd FLOOR STORAGE SOUTH OF STAIRWELL
6 - 3rd FLOOR MENS AND WOMENS RESTROOM
7 - STAIRWAY FROM 2nd to 3rd FLOORS
6. Color samples from the successful bidder shall be available for
City Staff to review on February 13, 1990..
