1990-008-RES WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris its regular council meeting on February 8 Resolution No. 88-
RESOLUTION NO. 90-008
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did, in
its regular council meeting on February 8, 1988, by
Resolution No. 88-011, resolve to provide its wholehearted
support to the establishment of an enhanced 9-1-1 Emergency
Telephone System and the implementation of the 9-1-1 fee and
surcharge in the City of Paris and chose to participate in
the 9-1-1 regional plan in accordance with Article 1432f;
and,
WHEREAS, the State 9-1-1 Commission requires that a
Cooperative Working Agreement be in place prior to the
systems being operational; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it
to be in the best interest of the citizens of Paris that the
Cooperative Working Agreement for the 9-1-1 Emergency
Communication System for Lamar County, in the form of Exhibit
A attached hereto and made a part hereof which should be
approved; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
That the form of Cooperative Working Agreement for the 9-1-1
Emergency Communication System, attached hereto as Exhibit A,
be, and the same is hereby approved; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Manager of the
City of Paris, Michael E. Malone, be, and he is hereby
authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of
Paris the Cooperative Working Agreement for implementing the
911 Emergency Communication System for Lamar County, attached
hereto as Exhibit A.

COOPERATIVE WORKING AGREEMENT
I, Michael Malone, City Manager of the City of Paris, Texas, do hereby
agree that the Pari s Pol ice Department wi 11 serve as the Pub 1 i c Safety
Answering Point (PSAP) under the 9-1-1 Emergency Communications System for
Lamar County. I understand that the Pari s Pol ice Department will answer
all 9-1-1 calls originating within the telephone company exchanges listed
on Attachment A. of this document. It is also my understanding that any
9-1-1 calls reaching the Paris Police Department which fall within public
safety jurisdictional boundaries outside of the City of Paris or Lamar
County will be transferred or relayed to the appropriate PSAP or public
safety agency serving that jurisdiction.
