1998-131-RES WHEREAS, CITY COUNCIL DID HERETOFORE ON THE 27TH DAY RESOLUTION NO. 98-131 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 27th day of August, 1998, in Resolution No. 98-125, approve the advertisement for bids for furnishing plant, labor, materials, and equipment, and for performing all work required for the "Chain Link Security Fence - Cox Field" project, which bids were received until 10:00 o'clock a.m., Monday on the 14th day of September, 1998; and, WHEREAS, the best bid for such construction was made by Emerson Fence Company, of Paris, Texas, and it should be awarded the bid for the same; and, WHEREAS, the form of the agreement for such construction project, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor, Charles H. Neeley, should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the bid of Emerson Fence Company for the "Chain Link Security Fence - Cox Field" project in the amount of $11,000.00, be, and the same is hereby, accepted and let conditioned upon said contractor meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the bid documents; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor, Charles H. Neeley, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Agreement with Emerson Fence Company, upon the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto. SPECIFICATIONS CHAIN LINK SECURITY FENCE Chain link security fence shall be as specified in ITEM 550 CHAIN LINK FENCE, Texas Department of Transportation, Standard specifications for Construction and Maintenance of Highways, Streets, and Bridges, 1995 Edition, except as modified herein: 550.1 Description. The chain link security fence shall be 6 feet tall with 3 strands of barbed wire on top. There currently exists approximately 315 L.F. of chain link fence which is to be taken down and reused in the new location. In addition, there is approximately 260 L.F. of chain link fence which has already been taken down and is rolled up in an orderly fashion which is to be reused. It is understood that the CONTRACTOR may determine that the reuse of existing materials may be more expensive than supplying all new materials. However, supplying all new materials shall not be grounds for awarding the contract to a higher bidder. It is the intent to incorporate existing, reusable materials that are on-site and ci ty owned in order to provide a complete and functioning first class installation.
