<br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />PARIS-LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> <br />The, Paris-Lamar County Board of Health held its regular meeting, Tuesday February 28, 2006, <br />at the Paris-Lamar County Health Department. Board members in attendance include Dr. <br />Robert Moseley, Mr. Ted Gibson, Dr. Wally Kraft, and Mr. Larry Reaves. Others in attendance <br />included Mr. Anthony Bethel, Ms. Martha Jo Anderson, Dr. Jon Plummer and Mrs. Carla <br />Rhodes. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:40 PM. <br /> <br />Minutes of previous meeting was approved with motion by Mr. Reaves and second by Dr. <br />Moseley. <br /> <br />Mr. Bethel presented th~ blue prints of the present Police Station remodeled for the Health <br />Department. He said that it will cost $60.00 a square foot and Dr. Strom had discussed getting a <br />grant from the McCuistion Foundation. The City would need to sell the building to the Health <br />Department. <br /> <br />Mr. Gibson suggested that the City could donate the building to the McCuistion Foundation and <br />the Health Department could lease the building from the McCuistion Foundation. The <br />McCuistion Foundation might be more willing to provide the funds for remodeling. <br /> <br />Mr. Bethel agreed to take the plans and talk to Dr. Strom about writing the grant to the <br />McCuistion Foundation. <br /> <br />Mr. Bethel discussed audit of Water Lab. Under new guidelines Pauline McDonald had been <br />Grandfather in to do water testing but since she has resigned, the next person doing water <br />testing needs a Bio-Chemistry degree or a Micro-Biology degree. He states that the job has been <br />posted but no one with the degrees required will apply for the salary offered for the position. <br />His degree will qualify him to sign off on the water testing. <br /> <br />Ms. Martha Jo Anderson requested to postpone discussing new patient load increasing, when <br />the medical doctors on the board are present at the board meeting, so they can help her. <br /> <br />Ms. Martha Jo Anderson discussed pharmaceutical companies no longer giving patients free <br />medicine and she has approximately 20 patients getting free insulin. <br /> <br />Mr. Reaves discussed getting funding for medicines through section 10-1 r. <br /> <br />.. .... _. ."t <br />
