MEETING OF THE
MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD
May 17,2006

A meeting of the members of the Paris Main Street Advisory Board was held Wed. May 17, 2006 at
3:00 p.m., at the Aikin Building. Jennifer Long, Vice-Chair, presided.

Other members present included Becky Semple, V&CC Director and Barbara Wilson.
Jennifer Long called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.
April 19, 2006 minutes were reviewed by advisory board members and a motion was made by Pike
Burkhart to approve the minutes as prepared. Casey Rose seconded and minutes were unanimously
approved.
Beth Golden, Main Street Coordinator welcomed new board member Lisa House to the advisory
board.
Committee Reports
>> Organization Committee - No report given at this time.
>> Promotions Committee - Beth Golden gave a report on the upcoming loft tour. 489 tickets are
still out at this time. We hope to sell at least 300 tickets. There was a wonderful article
featuring the Paris Bakery and their residence last Sunday and we hope that will increase
ticket sales as well. Beth Golden gave an update on volunteer duties explaining that
volunteers will get an opportunity to see lofts as well. A volunteer sheet was passed around
for Main Street board members. A loft information sheet will be completed by Walt Brown
with basic information like sale price, square footage, owners, etc. This will assist loft owners
from answering the general questions repeatedly. We hope to use funds from this year's tour
to advertise for future loft tours. Beth Golden spoke about the brown bag luncheon and
encouraged everyone attend. Artless plans to play music on the plaza during the loft tour.

Budget Summary
Beth Golden informed the group that a sample budget was submitted to Lisa Wright. All of the
items we included from last meeting were included. She will use the budget information I submitted
in preparing her final proposal for the City Manager. He will ultimately review the budget before it
goes before the city council this summer. Budget year end is September 30,2006.
A motion was made by Walt Brown to adjourn and seconded by Linda Knox. The meeting was
adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
