<br />RESOLUTION NO. 98-118
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 5th day of
<br />February, 1998 in Resolution No. 98-017, authorize an application to be made to the Office of
<br />the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, through the Ark-Tex Council of Governments, for the
<br />Criminal Justice Planning Fund Grant; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor of the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division
<br />has issued its Grant Award, entitled "Juvenile/Gang Officer Grant, No. SF-99-JOl-12752," for the
<br />period beginning September 1, 1998, and endi ng August 31, 1999, ; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, acceptance of the same must occur within forty-five (45) days of the date of
<br />said award, which occurred on July 31, 1998; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that the City
<br />of Paris accept said Grant Award for continuing a juvenile officer/juvenile gang officer in the City
<br />of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OJ' THE CITY OF PARIS, that the
<br />Criminal Justice Planning Fund Grant, entitled "Juvenile/Gang Officer Grant, No. SF-99-J01-
<br />12752," for the period beginning September 1, 1998, and ending August 31, 1999, in the total
<br />amount of $16,982.00, requiring a matching contribution of $26,104.00, be, and the same is
<br />hereby, accepted; and,
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager of the City of Paris, Michael E.
<br />Malone, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris,
<br />the Grant Acceptance Notice under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A,
<br />attached hereto.
