1998-118-RES WHEREAS, CITY COUNCIL DID HERETOFORE ON THE 5TH DAY
RESOLUTION NO. 98-118
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 5th day of
February, 1998 in Resolution No. 98-017, authorize an application to be made to the Office of
the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, through the Ark-Tex Council of Governments, for the
Criminal Justice Planning Fund Grant; and,
WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor of the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division
has issued its Grant Award, entitled "Juvenile/Gang Officer Grant, No. SF-99-JOl-12752," for the
period beginning September 1, 1998, and endi ng August 31, 1999, ; and,
WHEREAS, acceptance of the same must occur within forty-five (45) days of the date of
said award, which occurred on July 31, 1998; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that the City
of Paris accept said Grant Award for continuing a juvenile officer/juvenile gang officer in the City
of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OJ' THE CITY OF PARIS, that the
Criminal Justice Planning Fund Grant, entitled "Juvenile/Gang Officer Grant, No. SF-99-J01-
12752," for the period beginning September 1, 1998, and ending August 31, 1999, in the total
amount of $16,982.00, requiring a matching contribution of $26,104.00, be, and the same is
hereby, accepted; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager of the City of Paris, Michael E.
Malone, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris,
the Grant Acceptance Notice under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A,
attached hereto.

any election, the passage or defeat of legislation, or the funding of any grant.
It is understood that a violation of any term of the grant will result in the Criminal Justice Division placing a
temporary hold on grant funds, permanently deobligating all or part of the grant funds, requiring reimbursement for
funds already spent, or barring the organization from receiving future grants.
The grantee officials understand that they must satisfy all special conditions placed on this grant before receiving
any funds.
The grantee officials understand that the project is limited to four budget adjustments during the grant period.

The approved budget is reflected in the attached Approved Budget Summary. This grant
is subject to and conditioned upon acceptance of the Governor's Criminal Justice Plan
for Texas (Plan) promulgated for this specific program fund (referenced above) through
the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division. Applicable special conditions
are contained in the Plan or cited below. Total project costs must be accounted for
in accordance with the Uniform Grant Management Standards and the Plan.
GRANTEE REQUEST FOR FUNDS
All grantee requests for funds shall be submitted to CJD, to the attention of the
Accounting Department, in accordance with the instructions provided by CJD and shall be Ill'
in the form required by CJD. Requests for funds will not be honored until all special I'
conditions outlined on the statement of Grant Award and that required action on the par.
of the grantee have been satisfied.
FUTURE FUNDING
Approval of the above-referenced grant does not commit the Governor's Office to future
funding. Any such funding shall be determined by the state plan or guide under which
application may be made, bi all applicable policies and procedures ~romulgated by the
Governor's Offlce, Crimina Justice Division, and/or federal guidellnes, and by the ap-
propriation of funds.
GRANT ADJUSTMENTS
Grantee shall submit written requests for grant adjustments, as required by the appli-
cable Criminal Justice Rule contained in the Governor's Criminal Justice Plan for Texas
for this specific program fund.
