RESOLUTION NO. 98-109 WHEREAS, the City of Paris did heretofore, in 1972, receive a Right-of-Way Deed from R. R. Jordan for the purpose of right-of-way for Cardinal Lane and the placement of utilities; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 12th day of January, 1970, by Ordinance No. 1943 assess Lot 9, City Block 312, belonging to Homer Thornton, Jr. the sum of $732.89, which was a curb and gutter and paving assessment; and, WHEREAS, Mr. Thornton was agreeable to pay this assessment, even though there was a small strip of property between his property line and the curb and gutter which did not belong to him, being a part of the property deeded to the City of Paris by R. R. Jordan. The City of Paris has no need or use for this property and it was agreed to be conveyed to Mr. Thornton if he did pay for the curb and gutter adjacent to this property which he did; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate for the City of Paris to convey this strip of property to Homer Thornton, Jr., and a Special Warranty Deed in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor, Charles H. Neeley, should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THERE}~ORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the conveyance the property described in the form of a Special Warranty Deed attached hereto as Exhibit A, from the City of Paris to Homer Thornton, Jr., be, and the same is hereby, approved; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor, Charles H. Neeley, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Special Warranty Deed, under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
