<br />RESOLUTION NO. 98-109 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris did heretofore, in 1972, receive a Right-of-Way Deed from <br />R. R. Jordan for the purpose of right-of-way for Cardinal Lane and the placement of utilities; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 12th day of <br />January, 1970, by Ordinance No. 1943 assess Lot 9, City Block 312, belonging to Homer <br />Thornton, Jr. the sum of $732.89, which was a curb and gutter and paving assessment; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Thornton was agreeable to pay this assessment, even though there was <br />a small strip of property between his property line and the curb and gutter which did not belong <br />to him, being a part of the property deeded to the City of Paris by R. R. Jordan. The City of <br />Paris has no need or use for this property and it was agreed to be conveyed to Mr. Thornton if <br />he did pay for the curb and gutter adjacent to this property which he did; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate for the City of Paris to convey this strip of property <br />to Homer Thornton, Jr., and a Special Warranty Deed in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, <br />should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor, Charles H. Neeley, should be authorized to <br />execute the same; NOW, THERE}~ORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the <br />conveyance the property described in the form of a Special Warranty Deed attached hereto as <br />Exhibit A, from the City of Paris to Homer Thornton, Jr., be, and the same is hereby, approved; <br />and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor, Charles H. Neeley, be, and he is <br />hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Special Warranty <br />Deed, under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 10th day of Augus <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />Mattie Cunningham, City Clerk <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br /> <br />S ott P.
