1998-105-RES WHEREAS, IN ORDER TO PROVIDE AN ATTRACTIVE ENTRYWAY INTO COP

RESOLUTION NO. 98- 105 WHEREAS, in order to provide an attractive entryway into the City of Paris and to make a positive first impression on those considering Paris for locating new industry, holding conventions, tourism, employment in the medical field, or a as place to raise a family, the Community Development Committee of the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce has developed the Gateway Project; and, WHEREAS, the Gateway Project proposal, attached hereto as Exhibit A, outlines the project and the funding which is not to exceed a total cost of $50,000.00, with $10,000.00 to be provided by private sources through the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce, $10,000.00 to be provided by the City of Paris, with the remainder to be provided by the Texas Department of Transportation; and, WHEREAS, the City of Paris seeks to promote beautification efforts and it is deemed in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Paris to participate in the Gateway Project and the terms and conditions of the proposal attached hereto as Exhibit A, should in all things be approved; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the City of Paris' participation in the Gateway Project which requires partial funding by the City of Paris in the amount of $10,000.00, under the terms and conditions of the proposal, attached hereto as Exhibit A, be and the same is hereby, approved PASSED AND ADOPTED this 10th day of August, 1998. ~ ATTEST: Mattie Cunningham, City Cle APPROVED AS TO FORM: ~~ Scott Foster, City Attorney
