<br />RESOLUTION NO. 98- 105 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to provide an attractive entryway into the City of Paris and to <br />make a positive first impression on those considering Paris for locating new industry, <br />holding conventions, tourism, employment in the medical field, or a as place to raise a <br />family, the Community Development Committee of the Lamar County Chamber of <br />Commerce has developed the Gateway Project; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Gateway Project proposal, attached hereto as Exhibit A, outlines <br />the project and the funding which is not to exceed a total cost of $50,000.00, with <br />$10,000.00 to be provided by private sources through the Lamar County Chamber of <br />Commerce, $10,000.00 to be provided by the City of Paris, with the remainder to be <br />provided by the Texas Department of Transportation; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris seeks to promote beautification efforts and it is <br />deemed in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Paris to participate in the Gateway <br />Project and the terms and conditions of the proposal attached hereto as Exhibit A, should <br />in all things be approved; NOW THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that <br />the City of Paris' participation in the Gateway Project which requires partial funding by the <br />City of Paris in the amount of $10,000.00, under the terms and conditions of the proposal, <br />attached hereto as Exhibit A, be and the same is hereby, approved <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 10th day of August, 1998. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />Mattie Cunningham, City Cle <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br />Scott Foster, City Attorney <br />
