<br />RESOLUTION NO. 98-073
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 14th day of
<br />March, 1988, pass Resolution No. 88-020, which said Resolution was amended on the 14th day
<br />of August, 1989, by Resolution No. 89-097; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that said Resolution No. 88-020 be amended to
<br />provide for the execution of mutual aid agreements for fire, police, and emergency medical
<br />services; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that
<br />Resolution No. 88-020 be, and the same is hereby, amended so that such shall read as follows:
<br />
<br />"WHEREAS, the City of Paris has for many years provided aid to regional
<br />cities and counties and has received aid from regional cities and counties in times
<br />of disaster or extraordinary need; and,
<br />
<br />"WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Paris that
<br />such mutual aid be described in an intergovernmental contract with such regional
<br />cities and counties, providing for mutual aid in areas of Fire, Police, and EMS;
<br />and,
<br />
<br />"WHEREAS, the form of the Agreement for Mutual Aid, attached hereto
<br />as Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the City Manager, Michael
<br />E. Malone, should be authorized to execute the same with any and all
<br />municipalities, governmental entities, or volunteer fire departments for fire, police,
<br />or emergency medical services; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />"BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br />PARIS, that the form of the Agreement for Mutual Aid, attached hereto as Exhibit
<br />A, be, and the same is hereby, approved; and,
<br />
<br />"BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager, Michael E.
<br />Malone, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the
<br />City of Paris, mutual aid agreements with any and all municipalities, governmental
<br />entities, or volunteer fire departments within the region for fire, police, or
<br />emergency medical services; and,
<br />
<br />"BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager, Michael E.
<br />Malone, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the
<br />City of Paris, any and all addendums, communications, assurances, or additional
<br />documents necessary to effect said mutual aid. Jl
