A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, APPOINTING LAY REPRESENTATIVES TO THE NORTHEAST TEXAS LIBRARY SYSTEM, WHICH CURRENT TERMS EXPIRE AUGUST 31, 2006; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Paris, acting through its Library, is desirous of continuing participation in the Northeast Texas Library System; and, WHEREAS, the terms of office of Sarah Gambill as lay representative to the Northeast Texas Library System, and Jackie Alsobrook, as alternate lay representative, will expire on August 31, 2006; and, WHEREAS, the Library Advisory Board of the City of Paris does hereby recommend the appointment of Fran Neeley as lay representative and the reappointment of Jackie Alsobrook, as alternate lay representative, for terms of two (2) years, beginning September 1, 2006, and ending August 31,2008; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That Fran Neeley be, and she is hereby, appointed to serve as lay representative and that Jackie Alsobrook be, and she is hereby, reappointed to serve as alternate lay representative to the Northeast Texas Library System for terms of two (2) years, beginning September 1,2006, and ending August 31,2008. Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage. PASSED AND APPROVED this 28th day of August, 2006.
