DRAFT RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CAST THE VOTE FOR THE CITY OF PARIS FOR THE TML INTERGOVERNMENTAL EMPLOYEE BENEFITS POOL BOARD OF TRUSTEES - TML REGION 15 BALLOT FOR JAMES J. STOKES; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Paris is a member of the TML Intergovernmental Employee Benefits Pool through which it provides health benefits coverage to the City's officers and employees and to their dependents; WHEREAS, the City desires to cast a vote in the 2006 election for regional representation on the Board of Trustees of the TML Intergovernmental Employee Benefits Pool; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has been informed by the Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Employee Benefits Pool that nominees for an election of a member of the Board of Trustees of the Employee Benefits Pool for a term of office from October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2009 are to be mailed to the Board Secretary no later than 5:00 p.m. (CST) on September 26,2006, and WHEREAS, the City of Paris believes that James 1. Stokes is the nominee most qualified to serve as regional representative on the Board of Trustees of the TML Intergovernmental Employee Benefits Pool; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the City of Paris hereby decides to vote for James 1. Stokes as its regional representative on the Board of Trustees of the TML Intergovernmental Employee Benefits Pool. Section 3. That the City Council of the City of Paris, hereby authorizes Tony Williams, City Manager, to cast its vote for the TML Intergovernmental Employee Benefits Pool Board of Trustees - TML Region 15. Section 4. That the City Clerk, be, and she is hereby, directed to timely deliver a copy of this Resolution to the Board Secretary of the Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Employee Benefits Pool Board of Trustees. Section 5. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this Resolution was considered was open to the public as required and that public notice of the time, place, and purpose of said meeting was given as required r"
