RESOLUTION NO. 2006-140
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING ADDENDUM NO. ONE TO THE
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PARIS AND THE PARIS
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR PROVISION OF SCHOOL RESOURCE
OFFICER SERVICES DATED AUGUST 14,2006; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS
AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 14th day of August, 2006, in Resolution No.
2006-111 approve and authorize an Interlocal Agreement with the Paris Independent School District for
provision of School Resource Officer Services; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Paris and the Paris Independent School District deem it appropriate to
amend said Interlocal Agreement concerning the utilization of police officers during the summer months, the
accumulation of compensatory time during the summer months, and the payment of said officers during the
summer months when they are working for the City of Paris and not for the Paris Independent School
District; and,
WHEREAS, the form of Addendum No. One to said Interlocal Agreement, attached hereto as
Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed
to execute the same on behalf of the City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That the form of Addendum No. One to the Interlocal Agreement between the City of
Paris and the Paris Independent School District, attached hereto as Exhibit A be, and the same is hereby,
approved.
Section 3. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the
City of Paris Addendum No. One to the Interlocal Agreement with the Paris Independent School District
dated August 14, 2006, under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.

ADDENDUM NUMBER ONE TO INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
DATED AUGUST 14,2006, BETWEEN PARIS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT
AND THE CITY OF P ARIS, PARIS, TEXAS

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that this Addendum Number One to the
Interlocal Agreement dated August 14, 2006, between the Paris Independent School District
and the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, is made this 9th day of October, 2006, by and between the
Paris Independent School District, hereinafter called PISD, and the City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
acting by and through its Mayor Pro Tern, Mary Ann Fisher, duly authorized, hereinafter called
CITY.
WITNESSETH
It is hereby mutually agreed by and between PISD and CITY that the following
paragraph be amended to read as follows:
"6. For and in consideration of the services described above, PISD agrees to pay to
CITY the sum of $181,779.00 for the services to be provided under this
Agreement, payable in twelve (12) equal monthly payments of$15,148.25. The
CITY and PISD agree that the CITY will utilize the School Resource Officers as
needed during the summer months after they have exhausted all of their
compensatory, normal vacation, and holiday leave. The CITY will pay the
officers for any time they work on patrol for the CITY not to exceed thirty (30)
days per officer. The amount that the CITY pays the officers for non-school
related work and for work on patrol for the CITY will be deducted from the
amount that they are paid by the PISD pursuant to this Agreement. This
deduction for the time worked on patrol for the CITY during the previous school
year, shall be made from the first payment by the PISD to the CITY of each
school year. Compensatory time may be accrued in excess of 80 hours, but not
more than 240 hours, pursuant to this agreement. In the event that an officer
accumulates more than 80 hours of compensatory time while working for the
PISD, the PISD will be responsible for payment of any hours in excess of 80
hours, if the officer leaves the CITY prior to using those compensatory hours in
excess of 80."
