Minutes of the Meeting
May 1, 2006
Present: Gail Dority, Roy Gwim1, Helen Short, Karen Wilkerson,
Mike Patterson, Mary Lou Coe, Jon McFadden, Bobby Walters,
Richard Manning, Becky Semple, Gary Vest, Dr. William Hayden,
and Jamie Fussell.
Chairman Richard Manning called the meeting to order at 4:30 PM.
Chairman Manning welcomed Dr. William Hayden, representing the
Lamar County Historical Society Museum and Jamie FusseII from the
Paris News.
Gary Vest gave the financial report for the month ending March 31,
2006. The financials were approved on a motion by Bobby Walters,
seconded by Mary Lou Coe.
Unfinished Business: None
New Business: 1. There was an events funding request by the North
Texas Region Horseless Carriage Club of America for $550.00 to
assist their event on June 22/ 23/ and 24/ 2006. The request was
granted on a motion by Mary Lou Coe, seconded by Roy Gwinn.
2. Dr. William Hayden and Bobby Walters presented a request for the
V &CC to help with ongoing funding of the new Lamar County
Historical Society Museum. Gary Vest reviewed the financial
commitments of the V &CC concluding an available amount of
revenue under the current budget of $3,428.58. Bobby Walters made
a motion that we commit $3,400 under the current budget to the
Museum with a budget approval amendment by the Paris City
Council and then place an amount of $3/500 in the 2007 and
subsequent budgets for the Museum. Mike Patterson seconded the
motion and it passed unanimously.
