SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF PARIS
November 20, 2006
The City Council ofthe City of Paris met for a special meeting at 6:00 P. M. Monday,
November 20,2006, at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman, Paris, Texas.
Present:

Council Members: Curtis Fendley; Mary Ann Fisher, Mayor
Pro Tern; Kevin Gray; and Don Wilson
City Staff:
Tony N. Williams, City Manager; John
Lestock, Assistant City Attorney; and
Janice Ellis, City Clerk
Absent:
Council Members: Tim Ray and Jesse James Freelen
1. Mayor Manning called the meeting to order.
George Fisher gave the invocation.
2. Pledge of Allegiance.
Council Member Fendley led the pledge.
3. Interview applicants for the position of City Attorney.

Tony Williams informed Council staff had advertised with five organizations and
received nineteen applicants. Advertising took place over a period of four months. Tony told
Council out of the total number of applicants, six applicants had municipal experience. After
checking references, that list was narrowed down to three applicants. One of the three
applicants withdrew his application, because he accepted another job.
City Council interviewed Kent Mcllyar and John Lestock for the City Attorney
position. City Council decided to place a discussion and action item with regard to hiring a
City Attorney on the Agenda for November 27,2006.

4. Referrals.
Shirley Posey, 574 CR 35960, Arthur City, Texas, requested a zoning change from
Agricultural District to a One-Family Dwelling District No.3 (SF-3) with specific permit
(39) mobile home on Lot 13-F, City Block 324-Part of 19.28 ac. (lO.Olac), 3100 Old
Tigertown Road.
5. Adjournment.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:13 p.m.
