SPECIAL MEETING

THURSDAY. NOVEMBER 30. 2006
12:00 O'CLOCK P.M.
1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by
Chairman Arvin Starrett at 12:00 P.M.
A. The following members were present:
Arvin Starrett, Chairman
Ann Rogers
Sharon Nabors
Nancy Partridge
Susan Scholz
The following members were absent:
Pike Burkhart
Paul Denney
Alternates: Vanessa Preston
Brian Wear
B. Also present was Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer.
2. Consideration of and action on the following Certificates of Appropriateness:
A. 18 w: Plaza - Paris Community Theater, by April Inman - Motion was
made to approve the COA by Ann Rogers, seconded by Susan Scholz.
Motion carried 5-0.
B. 114 1st Street S.E. - Greg Wilson - Motion was made to approve the
COA by Sharon Nabors, seconded by Nancy Partride. Motion carried
5-0.
C. 136 Bonham Street - Michael and Sadatra Gaines - Sadatra Gaines,
2517 Kessler Drive, stated that she has a contract to buy the Dixon
Building. The current use for the building is mixed and she is planning
to continue in that same fashion by adding 2 additional residences. Ms.
Gaines passed around a drawing of the side elevation. No work is
being done on the north side at this time. Motion was made to approve

the COA by Sharon Nabors, seconded by Nancy Partridge. Motion
carried 5-0.
3. Declaring support for the City's application for a Brownfield Grant to mitigate
hazards at The Grand Theater. Motion was made to approve the declaration
of support for the City's application for a Brownfield Grant by Ann Rogers,
seconded by Susan Scholz. Motion carried 5-0.
4. Request items for future agendas. None.
5. Meeting adjourned at 12:12 P.M.
