MEETING OF THE
MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD

A meeting of the members of the Paris Main Street Advisory Board was held Wed. August 23,2006 at
3:00 p.m., at City Hall Council Chambers. Zach Saffle, Chairman, presided.

July 19, 2006 minutes were reviewed by advisory board members and a motion was made by Casey
Rose to approve the minutes as prepared. Walt Brown seconded and minutes were unanimously
approved.
Committee Reports:
Organization Committee - The organization committee did not meet this month and no report was
provided at this time.
Promotions Committee - A report was provided by Beth Golden, Promotions Committee Chair.
Music will be provided as usual at the Festival of Pumpkins and fundraising is going well at this time.
Hopes are to install lighting downtown before Christmas. Between the Festival and Sayonara
Summer we should be able to raise enough money to install the lights. We should know if we're
going to be able to by October rt. Festival will include the mechanical bull riding contest on Friday
night and we feel we'll make enough money off the event to pay for it. The intention is to add some
new element of interest to the festival each year. The dance contest needs a coordinator if we still
want to have it. The chili booth is going well, Taco Delite donated the products for the chili _ so all
proceeds will be profit and go directly toward the funding of the festival and the lighting of the plaza.
Wyatt Bowden and Matt Coyle have done an excellent job coordinating the mechanical bull. Vendor
applications are coming in at a steady rate and we think we'll have a good selection for shoppers.
Sponsorships are going pretty well, we're at about 40% at this point. Sayonara Summer is going
pretty well, but we still need auction items. We need 15 to 20 items total. Logo is still in progress and
we hope to have something to present in September.
Design Committee - The design committee did not meet this month and no report was provided at
this time.

Economic Restructuring Committee - The economic restructuring committee did not meet this month
and no report was provided at this time.
Nomination of a Board Chairman - Jennifer Long made a motion to nominate Casey Rose as
Chairman of the Main Street Advisory Board and Matt Coyle seconded the motion. Casey Rose
stated that he accepted the position and he wished for the meetings to stay on agenda and move
quickly and efficiently, leaving committees responsible for brainstorming and planning outside the
regular meetings and reporting back to the advisory board. All board members unanimously voted
for Casey Rose to serve as Board Chairman of the Main Street Advisory Board.
Nomination of Committee Chairs - Karol Lyn Moore nominated Pike Burkhart to chair the
organization committee. Cindy Allcorn seconded that motion. Motion carried. Pike Burkhart
accepted the position as organization chair. Walt Brown nominated Jennifer Long to chair the design
committee. Casey Rose seconded that motion. Motion carried. Jennifer Long accepted the position
as design chair. Jennifer Long nominated Walt Brown to serve as promotions committee chair. Pike
Burkhart seconded that motion. Motion carried. Walt Brown accepted the position as promotions
chairman. Walt Brown nominated Casey Rose as economic restructuring committee chairman.
Jennifer Long seconded the motion. Motion carried. Casey Rose accepted the position of economic
restructuring committee chairman.

Archery Tournament
A motion to adjourn was made by Casey Rose and seconded by Walt Brown. Meeting was adjourned
at 3:45 p.m.
