MEETING OF THE
MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD

A meeting of the members of the Paris Main Street Advisory Board was held Tuesday, September 5,
2006 at 10:00 a.m., at City Hall Council Chambers. Casey Rose, Chairman, presided.

Casey Rose reported to the Advisory Board that Main Street budget will be discussed at the council
meeting later this evening and asked that all board members be present to support Main Street
efforts.
Casey Rose stated that his understanding from the last council meeting was that some members of the
council proposed putting Main Street Coordinator responsibilities under Lisa Wright, Director of
Community Development. Casey stated that would not be in Main Streets best interest, because it's a
full time job currently. Downtown Merchants are in full support of Main Street. Texas Historical
Commission also wrote a letter of support for a full time manager. Casey recommended the entire
council get a copy of this letter. Casey encouraged members of the Advisory Board to show up at the
next city council meeting in support of Main Street. He also reported that the Downtown Merchants
Association members had met last week and were planning to attend and as well. Cards will be
passed out for audience recipients to wear. Also, Main Street Advisory Board members will be
passing out flyers with factual information for council members and citizens to read. Countless
volunteer hours have gone into the program and we want to make sure we keep it.
A motion to adjourn was made by Walt Brown and seconded by Jennifer Long. Meeting was
adjourned at 11: 00 a.m.
