RESOLUTION NO. 2007-001
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING TRANSFER OF THE FILES AND
LEGAL REPRESENTATION BY MONTE AKERS FOR THE CITY OF
PARIS CHARTER AMENDMENT PROJECT FROM THE LAW FIRM
OF BOVEY, AKERS & BOJORQUEZ TO AKERS & BOUL W ARE-
WELLS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED
TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council ofthe City of Paris did heretofore on October 9,2006,
by Resolution No. 2006-142, approve an Engagement Letter for Legal Services with the law
firm of Bovey, Akers & Bojorquez as represented by Monte Akers for the consulting
services in making amendments to the City of Paris City Charter; and,
WHEREAS, the partners of Bovey, Akers & Bojorquez have made an amicable
decision to go different directions and Monte Akers will be going into partnership with
Barbara Boulware-Wells to start the firm of Akers & Boulware-Wells; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Paris that the transfer
of the files and legal representation by Monte Akers for the City of Paris Charter
Amendment Project from the law firm of Bovey, Akers & Bojorquez to Akers & Boulware-
Wells be approved; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all
things approved.
Section 2. That the transfer of the files and legal representation by Monte Akers for the
City of Paris Charter Amendment Project from the law firm of Bovey, Akers & Bojorquez
to Akers & Boulware-Wells, be, and the same is hereby approved.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of January, 2007.

firm of Bovey & Bojorquez, LLP (formerly known as, "Bovey, Akers & Bojorquez").
2. Effective January 1, 2007,Mr. Akers will be with the firm of Akers & Boulware-Wells.
3. The files that have been created and accumulated by Bovey, Akers & Bojorquez during its
representation of Client are the property of the Client, and it is necessary for the Client to
direct the disposition of such files.
SELECTION:
Ii The Client opts to continue to be represented by Mr. Monte Akers and have its files
transferred to the law firm of Akers & Boulware-Wells, c/o Mr. Monte Akers, effective:
Jannary 1, 1007 [insert date]. This document shall constitute authorization for you
to transfer custody of our files to Mr. Monte Akers.
o The Client opts to have such files returned to the Client, effective:
[insert date]. (Please provide written direction for such return)
o The Client opts to be represented by the firm of Bovey & Bojorquez and have its files
remain with the Bovey & Bojorquez firm.
