Organization Committee Report - No report given at this time.
Promotions Committee Report - Walt Brown reported on the 1 sl Annual Holiday in Paris event held
the first two weekends of December. Walt reported on the Art Walk. He stated we had 12 Art Walk
participants located both on and off the square. Art walk venues were connected by luminaries so
that visitors were able to find the locations off the square. Art walk maps were also distributed prior
to and during the event. Becky Semple reported on the Paris Area Arts Alliance's Christmas Village.
The Arts Alliance reported $1041.00 in bids for trees auctioned during the event. Becky also reported
that $500.00 profit was made from the carriage rides. The Downtown Merchants Association donated
$500.00 to Holiday in Paris to pay for the first weekend of the carriage rides. Another Downtown
Merchant paid for the advertising on I-30. Many out of town visitors (Denver, Houston,
Fredericksburg, McKinney, and Texarkana) attended the event. There were hundreds of people
downtown both weekends. Art was sold, restaurants busy, merchants busy. It was a very successful
weekend in Downtown Paris. Ann Gilliland reported that the HIP group would meet in January to
begin planning next year's event. Ann said she heard wonderful comments from various members of
the community and Bonnie Neely had written a letter to the editor praising the efforts of the HIP
coordinators. Several garden clubs donated funds to Main Street to help pay for holiday decorations.
12 new light pole banners were purchased and new ribbon for the wreaths that hang on the fountain.
The collaboration was unique. So many different groups came together to make this event happen.

Copies of proposed Main Street logos were distributed to advisory board members. Walt Brown
shared that he preferred logo #1/ he felt it looked more nostalgic and like a marquee. He also
commented that the smaller version of logo #1 was legible as was logo #2. Casey Rose stated that he
liked logo #2 because it looked cleaner but he also stated that logo #1 looked more nostalgic. Jennifer
Long stated that she liked logo #1 and had no problem with removing the punctuation mark if
everyone agreed to remove it. Cindy Allcorn requested logo #2 is revised again. She would like to
see the wording stretched and she does not care for the punctuation. Walt Brown made a motion to
approve logo #1 as is with no changes. Matt Coyle seconded the motion. There were 3 ayes and 3
nays. Although 7 members of the advisory board were present and voted, only 6 of those votes were
counted due to one of the votes coming from an alternate member of the board. The logo will be
addressed at the January meeting for final approval.
Design Committee Report - No report.
Economic Restructuring Committee Report - Casey Rose reported that he would like to send a letter
to local bank presidents in order to find out their thoughts on establishing a low interest loan pool
program. It was suggested by the board that a lunch meeting be scheduled with all presidents to
discuss the program. Walt Brown made the motion approving this meeting and Lisa House seconded
the motion. Motion carried with 6 ayes and 0 nays.
