Lovorn, President and CEO John Lovorn is founder of The PACE Group, with over 30 years of experience in economic development, Chamber of Commerce management and targeted executive search. Over his career, John has lived in Virginia, Chicago and Mississippi working for hundreds of clients in more than 40 different sates and over 300 communities - and he's worked with scores of private-sector clients, as well, including such Fortune 500 giants as Whirlpool, Cooper Tire, Progress Energy and Ashland, Inc. He is a sought after public speaker, and is best known for his hundreds of presentations on community and economic development and addresses to more than 20 different State Press Associations on the important role of newspapers in their communities. After a career as Vice President and a Principal ofPHH Fantus Group in Chicago, where he founded the executive search profit center at the nations oldest and largest site selection, economic development and executive search firm, John founded The PACE Group in 1993, after PHH Fantus was sold to Deloitte Touche. Since its inception, The PACE Group has emerged as a leading executive search firm in the United States, with clients in over 40 different states. A graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma and the U.S. Chamber's Institute for Organization Management at the University of Georgia and Southern Methodist University, John started his career with hands-on experience from the ground up, working in the economic development field and running community Chambers of Commerce and Economic Development organizations. John also is a member of the Board of Governors of the Mississippi Economic Council (State Chamber of Commerce) and on the board of directors for the University of Southern Mississippi Foundation and the Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of Mississippi. In his hometown of Tupelo, MS he serves on the boards of the Big Brothers Big Sisters and Good Samaritan Free Clinic. He is active with the Sanctuary Hospice House and Touched by an Angel Ministries. He is a former administrative board member of the First United Methodist Church, where he is an active parishioner. John and his wife, Elaine, have two grown children - Barrett and Carley. He is an avid swimmer, walker, hunter and Tennessee Titans football fan. 4 I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I , Daniel Logan, Chief Operating Officer and Partner Daniel joined The PACE Group in 2003 as Executive Vice President. The Board of Directors appointed Daniel Chief Operating Officer in 2005. Daniel has conducted CEO searches in 16 states. He specializes in economic development, chamber of commerce, non-profit, government, private industry, and healthcare executive search, strategic planning, and marketing consulting. Prior to joining The PACE Group, Daniel was the President of the Franklin County, AL Development Authority. The Franklin County Development Authority was a start-up organization that hired Daniel to be its first President. During his time in Franklin County, Daniel announced over 600 new jobs with investments totaling over $10,000,000 in just 18 months. Before heading up development efforts in Franklin County, Daniel served under Kentucky Governor Paul Patton of Kentucky as the youngest Director in the Revenue Cabinet. He managed the $150M Coal Severance Tax program for the cabinet. Prior to returning to public service, Daniel served in the private sector with Mountain Stone Products of Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was responsible for all of the business aspects of this small company including sales, marketing, and business development. Upon graduation from college Daniel was asked by Governor Patton to join his staff and was quickly promoted to Deputy Director of Appalachian Development. In this capacity he was able to help create thousands of jobs in the Eastern part of Kentucky. Daniel is a graduate of Millsaps College where he earned a degree in Business Administration. He and his wife, Nikki, have a daughter, Grace, and a son Vince. ~.a 5 G R 0 U P Allison A. Morris, Vice President, Executive Recruitment Allison joined the PACE Group in 2005. Allison has conducted healthcare searches in Arkansas, Mississippi, North Dakota, and Texas. She previously worked with Kolar Advertising and Marketing in Austin, Texas. She worked on the account teams for DelFM and TRIADTM Food Groups. Allison coordinated interactive projects for the DelFM Employee Purchase Program email marketing program and worked on Dellâ„¢ Services direct mail campaigns. She researched marketing statistics, developed communication plans, and created and maintained production schedules for these clients in an effort to help manage interactive and print campaigns. Prior to this engagement, she served with National Instruments in Austin, Texas, where she worked in both the Community Outreach and Employee Communication Departments. There she recruited volunteers and worked to coordinate National Instruments outreach programs and international company events. She was awarded the Corporate Communications Intern Excellence Award for two consecutive semesters for her work. Allison received two degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. She excelled in the highly competitive Business Honors Program and also obtained a Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing. Allison graduated at the top of her class while maintaining leadership roles in her school and community. Throughout college, Allison worked as a freelance choreographer and dance instructor developing her sales, marketing, and management skills while growing a successful small business.
