05-C Main Street Adv Bd Mtg Min 1-9-07 MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD January 9, 2007 City Hall Council Chambers 107 East Kaufman Street 4:00 p.m. A meeting of the members of the Paris Main Street Advisory Board was held Tuesday, January 9,2007 at 4:00 p.m., at City Hall Council Chambers. Casey Rose, Chairman, presided. PRESENT: Jennifer Long (Vice Chairman) ABSENT: Cindy Allcorn Pike Burkhart (All.) Zach Saffle Walt Brown Karol Lyn Moore (Alt.) Linda Knox Drew Crawford (All.) Matt Coyle (All.) Lisa House Others present included Becky Semple, Director, V&CC, Greg Skidmore, Archers for Christ and Lisa Wright, Director of Community Development. Minutes December 20,2006 minutes were reviewed by advisory board members and a motion was made by Zach Saffle to approve the minutes as prepared. Walt Brown seconded and minutes were unanimously approved. Logo A proposed Main Street logo was presented to the board. Board member Walt Brown made a motion to approve the Main Street logo as presented. Karol Lyn Moore seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. ASA Tournament Greg Skidmore spoke to the Main Street Advisory Board about the ASA Tournament. He gave an overview of the tournament and schedule of events. The Pro-Am tournament is held in 6 cities nationwide, Paris being one of the stops on the tour. Event is open to all ages with an expected 1,000 to 1,500 entrants, not counting their families and spectators. He is anticipating a large number of entrants based on the centralized location of the event. The event is held Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday will be the lightest day for concessions and parking. Friday night there is a free concert and catered barbecue dinner. Based on information from Mr. Skidmore, we should plan on running the concessions & parking from 6am - 5pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We anticipate that Sunday will be a very busy lunch day with participants leaving around 2 p.m. Plans are to share the expenses of purchasing the products for the concessions with the Chamber of Commerce and then splitting the profits with them as well. Mr. Skidmore recommended Gatorade, bottled water, sodas, Page 1 of2 Power Bars, candy and coffee as necessary items. Of course, other standard concession items like nachos, hot dogs, etc. will be provided as well. Keeping it simple is the key component. Parking is $2 per vehicle and each vehicle will receive a parking tag for the entire weekend. VIP shooters will already have parking passes and will not be required to pay for parking. There will be vendors located in the civic center throughout the entire event. Casey Rose nominated himself as concession chairman, Pike Burkhart seconded the motion. Motion passed with 6 ayes and 1 nay. Walt Brown was nominated as chairperson for the parking committee by Casey Rose, Jennifer Long seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
