AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 17100FTHE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 21-100 OF SAID ZONING ORDINANCE; PROVIDING THAT ZONING CHANGE, OR ZONING AMENDMENT REQUESTS GO DIRECTLY TO THE PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION RATHER THAN TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS FIRST; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES ORP ARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, in order to expedite the process for initiating zoning change or zoning amendment requests, the City Council requested staff to prepare an ordinance amending Section 21-100 of the City Zoning Ordinance to state all petitions for zoning changes or zoning ordinance amendments be filed with the Planning & Zoning Commission; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That Section 21-100 of Zoning Ordinance No. 1710 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended so that such shall read as follows: "Sec.21. Amendments 21-100 Any person or corporation having a proprietary interest in any property may petition the Planning and Zoning Commission for a change or amendment to the provisions of this ordinance or the Planning and Zoning Commission may, on its own motion or on request from the City Council, institute study and proposal for changes and amendments in the public interest." Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on March 1,2007. .,..... ".
