DESCRIPTION:
A REPORT ON THE TRAIL DE PARIS PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE OVER US 271
SOUTH AT LOOP 286.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
This bridge will be required in order to connect the proposed 0.8 mile project trail
extension to the existing Trail de Paris. The "Friends of the Trail" have obtained
$90,000 from three different foundations in order to purchase and install a
pedestrian bridge that meets TXDOT standards. Several different people and
groups have donated time to assist with the project including Earl Erickson, Hayter
Engineering and Clottey Engineering. An agreement is being drafted by TXDOT
that will define who is responsible for maintenance and inspection of the bridge.
Surveying information and structural information is being gathered in order to
determine how much money will be needed to do the complete project.
