RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE MAIN STREET ADVISORY
BOARD; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO
THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the terms of office of Walt Brown, Zachery Saffle, Linda Suarez Knox, and
Matthew Coyle (Alternate) as members of the Main Street Advisory Board of the City of Paris,
expired on March 31, 2007; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris does hereby recommend the reappointment of
Zachery Saffle and the appointment of Karol Lynn Moore, Kari Daniel, and Wyatt Bowden
(Alternate) to the Main Street Advisory Board for approximately three-year terms, beginning June
11, 2007, and ending March 31, 2010; and,
WHEREAS, there exists three additional vacancies on the membership of the Main Street
Advisory Board due to the resignations of Casey Rose, and Drew Crawford (Alternate), and the
transfer of Karol Lynn Moore from an alternate member to a full member and it is necessary to
appoint their successors; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris does hereby recommend the appointment of
Matthew Coyle to the Main Street Advisory Board to serve the unexpired term of Casey Rose, which
ends March 31, 2009; the appointment of Marvin Gorley to serve the unexpired term of Drew
Crawford (Alternate), which ends March 31, 2008, and the appointment of Larry Womack to serve
the unexpired term of Karol Lynn Moore (Alternate), which ends March 31, 2009;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That the City Council has received and reviewed the recommendations of the
Mayor for the Main Street Advisory Board and hereby approves and appoints the following persons
to serve on the Main Street Advisory Board.
Section 3. That Zachery Saffle be, and he is hereby, reappointed, and that Karol Lynn
Moore, Kari Daniel, and Wyatt Bowden (Alternate) be, and they are hereby, appointed to serve as
members of the Main Street Advisory Board for approximately three-year terms, beginning June 11,
2007, and ending March 31, 2010.
Section 4. That Matthew Coyle be and he is hereby appointed to serve the unexpired term
of Casey Rose, which ends March 31, 2009, the Marvin Gorley (Alternate) be and he is hereby
appointed to serve the unexpired term of Drew Crawford (Alternate), which ends March 31, 2008,
and Larry Womack (Alternate) be and he is hereby appointed to serve the unexpired term of Karol
Lynn Moore (Alternate), which ends March 31,2009.
Section 5. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.

Eleven members; three year staggered terms; Mayor recommends and Council
appoints.
Responsible for establishing program policy; determining the goals and objectives of the
program; and providing guidance and advice to City Council; recommends guidelines for
the refurbishing of buildings in the downtown area; and, recommends programs to bring
patrons into the downtown area and sponsors advertising for these events.

PARIS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
Five members; must reside within the corporate limits of the City of Paris; must not
have served on City Council for at least one year prior to being appointed; cannot
serve more than two consecutive terms; three year staggered terms; Mayor
recommends and Council appoints.
Promote, assist, and enhance the economic development activities of the City of Paris
and issue bonds to carry out these activities.
