DESCRIPTION:
Consider and approve future events for City Council and/or City Staff pursuant to
Resolution No. 2004-081.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Communijy Development Department has arranged for a Planning and Zoning
Workshop to be held in Paris on Friday, September 14,2007, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00
p.m. These workshops are normally held in locations such as Austin; however, the
Department Director contacted the American Planning Association and offered to host
a workshop so that officials in Paris and surrounding communities could attend training
much closer to home (the City of Reno Planning & Zoning Commission has already
committed to attend). The fee for attendance is $60.00 per person. The Community
Development Department has budgeted and will payfor attendance by members of the
Planning & Zoning Commission and Board of Adjustment.
City Council members are encouraged to attend this workshop to gain a more
comprehensive understanding of zoning. Resolution No. 2004-081 requires Council
approval for expenditures related to events attended by City Council members inside
Lamar County.
