SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF PARIS
August 20, 2007
The City Council of the City of Paris met for a special meeting at 6:00 P. M. Monday,
August 20, 2007, at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman, Paris, Texas.
Present:
Mayor:
Jesse James Freelen
Council Members: Mary Ann Fisher; Stephen Brown; Kevin
Gray; and Bill Strathern, Mayor Pro Tern
City Staff:
Ernie Clark, Interim City Manager; Kent
McIlyar, City Attorney; and Janice Ellis,
City Clerk
Absent:
Council Members Will Biard and Don Wilson
1. Mayor Freelen called the meeting to order.
Ernie Clark gave the invocation.
2. Pledge of Allegiance.
Council Member Gray led the pledge.
3. Presentation of proposed 2007-2008 Budget by the City Manager for the City.
Ernie Clark presented the proposed budget to Council and announced that it would be
discussed at the next meeting.
4. RESOLUTION NO. 2007-093: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE CITY MANAGER'S
PROPOSED BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2007-2008; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS
AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Gray and seconded by Council
Member Fisher. Motion carried, 5 ayes - 0 nays.
5. Adjournment.
There being no further business, Council Member Fisher made a Motion to adjourn and
Council Member Gray seconded the Motion. Motion carried, 5 ayes - 0 nays. The meeting was
adjourned at 6:03 p.m.
