A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
TEXAS, APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE TRAFFIC COMMISSION TO
SERVE THE UNEXPIRED TERM OF MARY LANE W AL THALL, WHICH
EXPIRES JUNE 30, 2010; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS
RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, there exists a vacancy on the membership of the Traffic Commission of the
City of Paris due to the resignation of Mary Lane Walthall, and it is necessary to appoint her
successor; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris does hereby recommend the appointment of
to serve the unexpired term of Mary Lane Walthall, which ends June 30, 2010;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That be, and (he/she) is hereby, appointed to serve the
unexpired term of Mary Lane Walthall, which ends June 30, 2010, as a member of the Traffic
Commission of the City of Paris.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.

TRAFFIC COMMISSION
Nine members; citizens of Paris; three year staggered terms; Mayor appoints upon
recommendation of the majority of the remaining members of the commission and
Council confirms; meets as needed.
The Commission considers and proposes measures designed to minimize technical
and difficult traffic problems resulting from increased vehicular traffic in Paris. Traffic
Safety Coordinator provides staff support and coordination for the Commission.
