A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
TEXAS, SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE CITY MANAGER'S
PROPOSED BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2007-2008; MAKING OTHER
FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Paris has submitted to the City Council at a
special meeting convened on the 20th day of August, 2007, the City Manager's proposed budget for
Fiscal Year 2007-2008 as directed by Section 45 of the Charter of the City of Paris; and,
WHEREAS, the City Manager did file the proposed budget with the City Clerk of the City
of Paris on the 16th day of August, 2007, in accordance with Vernon's Texas Codes Annotated, Local
Government Code, Section 102.005(a); and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 50 of the Charter, a public hearing must be held
giving all interested persons an opportunity to be heard for or against any item or the amount of any
item therein contained; and,
WHEREAS, said public hearing shall be held on the 5th day of September, 2007, at 6:00
p.m., which date is at least fifteen (15) days after the date the proposed budget was filed with the
City Clerk in accordance with Vernon's Texas Codes Annotated, Local Government Code, Section
102.006(b);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That a public hearing be, and the same is hereby, called for the 5th day of
September, 2007, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber,107 E. Kaufman Street, Paris, Texas,
for the purpose of hearing written and oral comments from the citizens of Paris concerning the City
Manager's proposed annual budget for fiscal year 2007-2008.
Section 3. That the City Clerk of the City of Paris publish notice of said public hearing in
the Paris News no less than five (5) days prior to September 5, 2007.

In compliance with the Chanter of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and Vernon's Texas Codes
Annotated, Local Government Code, Section 102.006(b), notice is hereby given that a Public
Hearing on the City Manager's Proposed Budget for the City of Paris for the fiscal year beginning
October 1, 2007, and ending September 30, 2008, will be conducted by the City Council on the 5th
day of September, 2007, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman Street, Paris,
Texas.
This budget will raise more total property taxes than last year's budget by $395,705.00 or
4.94%, and of that amount $184,933.00 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the
roll this year.
