RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
TEXAS, NOMINATING A CANDIDATE FOR MEMBERSHIP ON THE
BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE LAMAR COUNTY APPRAISAL
DISTRICT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED
TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has been asked to nominate a candidate
for membership on the Board of Directors of the Lamar County Appraisal District; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of nominating
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That be, and he/she is hereby, nominated to serve
as a member of the Board of Directors of the Lamar County Appraisal District for a two (2) year term
beginning January I, 2008.
Section 3. That the City Clerk, be, and she is hereby, directed to timely deliver a copy ofthis
Resolution to the Lamar County Appraisal District.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.

APPRAISAL DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS
2007
September 28
By this date, chief appraiser m~lSt notify each voting taxing
Ul'l.it of the nlllnber of votes it may cast. (Must be delivered
to the County Judge and each commissioner; each
superintendent and school board president; each city
manager or city secretary or clerk)
October 12
By this date, the presiding officer of each voting taxing unit
nmst submit the name of the nominees by a written
resolution adopted in any open meeting of the governing
body.
October 29
By this date, the chief appraiser must prepare a ballot
listing the nominees and deliver a copy of this ballot to the
presiding officer of the governing body of each voting
taxing unit. (Must be delivered to the presiding officer of
the governing body of each taxing unit that is entitled vote.)
December 14
By this date, each voting taxing unit must vote in open
meeting and report its vote to the chief appraiser by writtell
resolution. Votes m'llst be cast for persons nominated and
l1amed on the ballot. A ~ll1it may cast all its votes for one
candidate or may distribute its votes among a.ny number of
candidates.
December 28
By this date, the chief appraiser must count the votes and
declare the candidates who received the largest vote totals.
The chief appraiser shall resolve a tie vote by any method
of chance. The chief appraiser must notify all taxing units
and all candidates of the outcome.
