PARIS VISITORS AND CONVENTION COUNOL MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 14TH, 2007
Present: Richard Manning, George Kimbrough, Roy Gwinn, Brady Fisher, Tim Masters, Gail Dority,
Mary Lou Coe, Jon McFadden, Emilv O'Connor, Pete Kampfer, Mindy Moree,
and Becky Semple.
Chairman Richard Manning called the meeting to order.
Guests attending today's meeting was Main Street Director Beth Golden, and Jason Browning with the
City, as well as Connie Beard with the Paris News.
Mindy Moree presented the financials, and George Kimbrough made a motion to approve the Financial
Report as given, and Mary Lou Coe seconded the motion.
Minutes from the last meeting were read, and Tim Masters made a motion that they be approved as
read, and George Kimbrough made the second.
Funding request from Juanita Miller for Rallye de Paris was presented, and members voted to fund
$1080.00 based on the scoring criteria to the 2007 Rallye de Paris event. Mary Lou Coe made the
motion to approve this funding, and Gail Dority 2f1(1 the motion.
Jason Browning brought a request to the Council to help fund bringing Cas Haley to perform a concert in
Downtown Paris during IIHoliday in Paris", Cas is from Paris, and was recent~ on N America's Got Talent"
where he was runner up in the competition.
Jason stated that the cost of the set up for the concert, and the band's fees would be over $10,000.00
Due to the popularity that Cas and his band are experiencing. It Is recommended that the V & CC fund
$6,000.00 toward the concert cost.
Motion was made by Gail DoritV to approve the $6,000.00, and 2nd by Mary Lou Cae.
