RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Motion to pursue a partnership with Paris Economic Development Corporation to conduct a strategic
planning process.

Strategic Planning
BACKGROUND:
One of the Council's goals and objectives includes development of strategic plans by April 1, 2008 and
envisioned astaff--only approach. As outlined by Dr. Pam Anglin and her presentation outlining
strategic planning, as well as review of literature on the subject, this is not a successful approach. The
more appropriate process involves the public, council, and staff and takes several months. The process
is very involved and requires a significant amount of labor to shepherd the project. PEDC Executive
Director Pete Kampfer has agreed to fund a consultant to lead us in this effort.
