Operational protocols
BACKGROUND:
Council has requested a discussion to evaluate and possibly modify meeting and legislative
protocols. Items suggested over the last few weeks include:
1. Having ordinances go through two readings before adoption in order to allow more
thorough deliberation and to give more public notice.
2. Having a meedng workshop before regular meetings in order to have questions
addressed prior to the regular meeting. In other cities these are done immediately
prior to the regular meedng or done a day or two prior.
3. Changing the meedng time and/or days of the month
