RESOLUTION NO. 2002-056
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2002-029, ADOPTED
FEBRUARY 11, 2002, WHICH ORDERED THE REGULAR MUNICIPAL
ELECTION FOR THE CITY OF PARIS TO BE HELD ON THE FIRST
SATURDAY IN MAY, 2002, TO CHANGE THE DESIGNATED POLLING
PLACES FOR COUNCIL MEMBER DISTRICT NO. 1 AND COUNCIL
MEMBER DISTRICT NO.3 AS A RESULT OF THE CITY'S PROCESS OF
REDISTRICTING IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FEDERAL VOTING
RIGHTS ACT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED
TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That Section 2 of Resolution No. 2002-029, adopted February 11,2002, which
ordered the regular municipal election for the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, to be held on the first
Saturday in May, 2002, shall be and is hereby amended to designate new polling places for
Council Member District No.1 and Council Member District No.3 as a result of the City's
redistricting process in accordance with the Federal Voting Rights Act, said amended Section 2
to read as follows:
"Section 2. That the polling places and election officials of each election
shall be as follows:

Red River Valley Fair Grounds
590 East Center Street

Frankie Dangerfield, Alternate Presiding Judge
District Two (2):
Polling Place:
City of Paris Police & Courts Building

Travis Jr. High School
3270 Graham Street
Officials:

Paris Junior College
Applied Technology Building

Section 2. That all other terms and provisions of Resolution No. 2002-029 not amended
by this resolution shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Paris in regular meeting
at 2400 Clarksville Street, Room 1016, on this 11th day of March, 2002.
