ORDINANCE NO. 2003-011
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, ADOPTING A REVISED VOTING DISTRICT MAP;
MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE
SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council ofthe City of Paris did heretofore, on the 12th day of August,
2002, by Resolution No. 2002-135, adopt a revised Voting District Map; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore, on the 6th day of March, 2003, by Ordinance
No. 2003-~, annex by petition 11.316 acres, more or less, known as The Hills Subdivision,
Phase III; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that the revised Voting District Map attached hereto
as Exhibit A, which provides for the inclusion of the newly annexed areas into existing voting
districts, be approved and adopted; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That the Voting District Map attached hereto as Exhibit A be, and the same is
hereby, approved and adopted.
Section 3. That it is determined that the revisions made to such map will not have the effect
of abridging the right of any person to vote on account of race, color, or membership in a language
minority or group.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
