2004-039-ORD PROVIDING CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED BY REVISING TRAFFIC CONTROL MAP ADOPTED IN PARAGRAPH (b) OF SECTION3-165 OF SAID CODE
ORDINANCE NO. 2004-039
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF PARIS BE AMENDED BY REVISING THE TRAFFIC
CONTROL MAP ADOYfED IN PARAGRAPH (b) OF SECTION 31-65
OF SAID CODE TO INCLUDE A CENTER LEFT TURN LANE,
INCLUDING MARKINGS AND SIGNS, ON PINE MILL ROAD AT
NORTH COLLEGIATE DRIVE WITmN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE
CITY OF PARIS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS
RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR
PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 1, 2004.
WHEREAS, the City of Paris Traffic Commission is charged with the responsibility
to study and evaluate traffic control devices for use on City streets and roadways; and,
WHEREAS, among those traffic control devices evaluated by the Traffic Commission
is the placement of center left turn lanes, including markings and signs, at various
intersections throughout the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Traffic Commission, at its regular meeting of September 7, 2004,
considered and evaluated various suggestions and requests for the placement of center left
turn lanes at various locations throughout the City, and, having done so, found and
determined that the placement of center left turn lanes at certain locations of and intersections
in the City is necessary to protect the health and safety and is in the best interests of the
citizens of the City of Paris, and have so recommended such signs to the City Council of the
City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby in
all things approved.
Section 2. That the Traffic Control Map adopted in Paragraph (b) of Section 31-65
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same is hereby,
amended to include the following center left turn lane, including markings and signs:
"On Pine Mill Road at North Collegiate Drive."
Section 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
expressly repealed.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall become effective on October 1, 2004.
