2001-041-RES AMENDING RESOLUTION NO 2001-009 SUBSTITUTING DESIGNATED JUDGES FOR EARLY VOTING IN MAY 5 2001 GENERAL ELECTION
RESOLUTION NO. 2001-041
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2001-009, SUBSTITUTING
THE DESIGNATED JUDGES FOR EARLY VOTING IN THE MAY 5, 2001,
GENERAL ELECTION; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS
RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, has previously adopted
Resolution No. 2001-009 ordering the regular municipal election for the City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
to be held on the first Saturday in May, 2001, the same being the 5th day of May, 2001, between the
hours of7:00 o'clock a.m. and 7:00 o'clock p.m.; and,
WHEREAS, as part of the aforesaid resolution, the City Council designated election judges
for early voting; and,
WHEREAS. the City Council has, in accordance with state law, previously adopted an
ordinance declaring the unopposed candidate in Council District 5 as elected to office and rescinding
the election in District 5, thereby prompting the designation of different election judges for early
voting; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved
Section 2. That Section 5 of Resolution No. 2001-009, which ordered the regular municipal
election for the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, to be held on the first Saturday in May, 2001, the same
being May 5,2001, is hereby in all things amended to read as follows:
"Section 5. That the polling place and election officials for early voting of
said election shall be as follows:
EARLY VOTING
Polling Place: City Hall Annex West
150 1 st Street S.E.
EARLY BALLOT BOARD:
Officials:
James R. Hicks, Presiding Judge
Jessie Bolton, Alternate Presiding Judge"
Section 3. That all other terms and provisions of prior Resolution No. 2001-009 not
amended by this resolution shall remain in full force and effect, unless subsequently amended hereafter
or revised by other action of City Council.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Paris in a regular meeting
at the City Hall of said city on this 9th day of April, 2001.
