2003-116-RES APPROVING/APPROVING INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN PISD AND JUVENILE JUSTICE RESOURCE OFFICER 2003-2004
RESOLUTION NO. 2003-116
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH PARIS INDEPENDENT
SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR PROVISION OF JUVENILE JUSTICE
RESOURCE OFFICER SERVICES TO ALL PISD CAMPUSES DURING
THE 2003-2004 SCHOOL YEAR; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND
PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Paris Independent School District has requested Juvenile Justice Resource
Officer services throughout the 2003-2004 school year at PISD campuses, and the City Council
is agreeable to providing such service; and,
WHEREAS, the form of the Intergovernmental Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit A,
should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor of the City of Paris should be authorized to
execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That the form of the Intergovernmental Agreement with the Paris Independent
School District, attached hereto as Exhibit A, for Juvenile Justice Resource Officer services
throughout the 2003-2004 school year at PISD campuses, be, and the same is hereby, approved.
Section 3. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on
behalf of the City of Paris, the Intergovernmental Agreement with the Paris Independent School
District, under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
COUNTY OF LAMAR
THAT, the CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, a municipal corporation, acting by and
through its Mayor, Curtis Fendley, duly authorized, hereinafter called CITY, and the PARIS
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, acting by and through its Business Manager, Kay Spann,
duly authorized, hereinafter called PISD, do hereby contract and agree as follows:
1. CITY agrees to provide Juvenile Justice Resource Officer Services to all PISD
campuses during the 2003-2004 school year.
2. For and in consideration of the services described above, PISD agrees to pay to
CITY the sum of Forty-eight Thousand One Hundred Thirty-seven and no/IOO
Dollars ($48,137.00). Such sum shall be paid out monthly during the months of
September 2003 through May 2004.
3. The term of this agreement shall be for the 2003-2004 school year.
