RESOLUTION NO. 2003.046
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) MODEL
YEAR 2003 4-WHEEL DRIVE EXTEND-A-HOE LOADER FOR USE IN
THE STREET DIVISION OF THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT,
SUBJECT TO THE CITY OBTAINING ACCEPT ABLE FINANCING
TERMS FROM OUTSIDE SOURCES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER AND THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO OBTAIN
SUCH FINANCING; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A LEASE
PURCHASE AGREEMENT AND ANY AND ALL OTHER NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE TRANSACTION APPROVED HEREIN;
MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE
SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 9th day of
December, 2002, in Resolution No. 2002-190, approve the advertisement for bids for one (1)
model year 2003 4-wheel drive Extend-a-hoe Loader for use in the Street Division of the Public
Works Department, which bids were received until 3:00 o'clock P.M., Tuesday, the 4th day of
February, 2003; and,
WHEREAS, the best bid for such equipment was made by United Rentals of Sherman,
Texas, and it should be awarded the bid for the same
WHEREAS, it is further deemed appropriate that the City Manager be authorized to execute
a Lease Purchase Agreement for said equipment for a total purchase price of$59,980.00, subject to
the city obtaining acceptable financing terms from outside sources; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the fmdings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
things approved.
Section 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute,
on behalf of the City of Paris, a Lease Purchase Agreement, upon such terms and conditions and in
such form as approved by the City Attorney, at the price of $59,980.00, financing the purchase of
one (1) model year 2003 4-wheel drive Extend-a-hoe Loader for use in the Street Division of the
Public Works Department, subject to the City obtaining acceptable financing terms from outside
sources.
Section 3. That the City Manager and the Director of Public Works be, and they are
hereby, authorized and directed to seek and obtain acceptable financing terms for such purchase.

Section 4. That the City Manager, City Attorney, Finance Director, or other appropriate
City officials shaIl be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to execute any and all other
necessary documents related to the transaction approved herein.
Section 5. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
