2004-153-RES APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 TO CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF DOWNTOWN STREETSCAPE PROJECT RESOLUTION NO. 2004-153 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 TO CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF DOWNTOWN STREETSCAPE PROJECT, FEDERAL PROJECT STP 2000 (615) TE, CSJ-0901-29-017, CONCURRENT WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 8th day of December, 2003, in Resolution No. 2300-187, award the contract for the "Downtown Streetscape Project, Federal Project STP 2000 (615) TE," to Encino Landscape, Inc.; and, WHEREAS, Hayter Engineering, Inc., acting as project engineer, recommends the amendment of the contract for said project to provide for the extension of sidewalks and associated improvements on N.E., S.E., and S.W. corners, and providing for a net increase of$146,813.30 in the contract price; and, WHEREAS, the Change Order No.2 Summary, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should in all things be approved, and the Mayor should be authorized to execute a Change Order form concurrent with the approval of the Texas Department of Transportation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the Change Order No.2 Summary to the Contract for the "Downtown Streetscape Project, Federal Project STP 2000 (615) TE,", attached hereto as Exhibit A, to provide for the extension of sidewalks and associated improvements on N.E., S.E., and S.W. corners, and providing for a net increase of $146,813.30 in the contract price, be, and the same is hereby, approved. Section 3. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, a Change Order No.2, upon the terms and conditions and in conformance with the Summary shown in Exhibit A attached hereto, concurrent with the approval of the Texas Department of Transportation. Inc. The following changes are hereby made to the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: Phase II including replacing approximately one-half block of sidewalk leaving the square to the N.E., S.E., & S.W. This work includes the installation of lighting. Justification: This work will extend the square sidewalk replacement and lighting off the square within the original budget, and within the original project scope approved by TxDOT. Change to CONTRACT PRICE: Original CONTRACT PRICE: $ 601.340.1 J Current CONTRACT PRICE adjusted by previous CHANGE ORDER $ 596.383.89 The CONTRACT PRICE due to this CHANGE ORDER will be increased by: $ 146.813.30 The new CONTRACT PRICE including this CHANGE ORDER will be $ 743.197.19 Change to CONTRACT TIME: The CONTRACT TIME will be increased by 205 calendar days.
