2004-089-RES APPROVING APPOINTMENT OF ASSISTANT CITY CLERK
RESOLUTION NO. 2004-089
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT
OF AN ASSISTANT CITY CLERK; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND
PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, an Assistant City Clerk ofthe City of Paris, Paris, Texas, Thomas E. Haynes,
has retired and it is fitting and proper that an Assistant City Clerk be appointed to replace him; and,
WHEREAS, Sherian Dixon is qualified and an appropriate person to be appointed Assistant
City Clerk with authority to act in the capacity ofthe City Clerk in the absence of City Clerk Mattie
Cunningham; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That Sherian Dixon, be, and she is hereby appointed Assistant City Clerk to act
in the stead of City Clerk Mattie Cunningham when she is occupied with other duties, absent from
the City or incapable of acting as City Clerk.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
