A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. ONE TO
CONTRACT #6 WITH HILLIARD & SONS CONTRACTORS, INC. FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE FLATWORK AND PARK
AMENITIES INCLUDING TRAIL, DRAIN PIPES, CONCRETE
FLATWORK, PICNIC STATIONS AND PLAYGROUND FOR THE PARIS
SPORTS COMPLEX; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS
RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 8th day of May,
2003, in Resolution No. 2003-083, award Contract #6 for the construction of concrete flatwork
and park amenities including trail, drain pipes, concrete flatwork, picnic stations and playground
for the "Paris Sports Complex," to Hilliard & Sons Contractors; and,
WHEREAS, MHS Planning & Design, acting as project engineer, recommends the
amendment of the contract for said project by Change Order No. One, to add internal rope based
halyard system to flagpoles (2 poles @ $150 per pole) and to modify concrete walkway between
field #3 and field #4, and providing for a net increase of $2,130.00 in the contract price, for a
total contract price of $173,130.00; and,
WHEREAS, the form of Change Order No. One, attached hereto as Exhibit A should, in
all things, be approved, and the Mayor should be authorized to execute the same; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the fmdings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all
things approved.
Section 2. That the form of Change Order No. One to Contract #6 with Hilliard & Son
Contractors for the construction of concrete flatwork and park amenities including concrete trail,
drain pipes, concrete flatwork, picnic stations and playground for the "Paris Sports Complex,"
attached hereto as Exhibit A, to add internal rope based halyard system to flagpoles (2 poles
@$150 per pole), and to modify concrete walkway between field #3 and field #4, and providing
for a net increase of$2,130.oo in the contract price, for a total contract price of$173,130.00, be,
and the same is hereby, approved.
Section 3. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on
behalf of the City of Paris, said Change Order No. One, upon the terms and conditions and in the
form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of passage.
