RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Monthly report on the status of demolitions of substandard structures.
POLICY ISSUE(S):

BACKGROUND:
During the month of January, demolition activities were as follows:
Work Orders Issued: 0(will not issue additional work orders until pending orders have
been completed)
Work Orders Completed: 3
New BSC Orders 5
There were only three demolitions completed in January due to the issues we had been experiencing
with the gas and electrical services being removed by the utility companies. The Department met earlier
this month with representatives from the utilities to resolve these issues, and a procedure for requesting
removal of services has been agreed upon and implemented. Demolitions should begin proceeding at a
regular rate from this date forward.
