CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2009
4:00 O'CLOCK P.M.
1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett,
Chairman.
A. The following members were present:
Arvin Starrett, Chairman
Ben Vaughan
Susan Scholz, Secretary
Jerry Raper
B. The following members were absent:
Brad Archer
Paul Denney, Vice-Chairman
Matt Coyle
C. Also present was Shawn Napier, City Engineer and Robert Talley, Code
Enforcement Officer.
2. Discussion of and action on placing Citizens Forums on future agenda.
No action. Place on next agenda when Paul Denney is present.
3. Approval of m.inutes.fr•om previous meetings (January 26, 2009; February 11, 2009)
Motion was made and seconded to approve January 26, 2009 minutes as written and to
approve the amended February 11, 2009 minutes with changes to item 2.A. "add
mounting, painting to blend". Motion carried unanimously.
4. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate ofAppropriateness:
A. 110, 112, 114, 116, 118, 120 and 128 Clarksville Street - Andy L. and Nancy
Anderson - Andy and Nancy Anderson represented the petition. Motion was made by
Susan Scholz, seconded by Ben Vaughan to approve the COA. Motion carried 4-0.
B. 28 West Plaza - Heritage Fabric Shoppe - Motion was made by Ben Vaughan,
seconded by Susan Scholz, to table this item. Motion carried 4-0.
5. Consideration of and action on the following fagade grants:
A. 122 Bonham Street - Daniel Atnip - Motion was made by Susan Scholz,
seconded by Jerry Raper to award the fagade grant. Motion carried 4-0.

Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Ben Vaughan, to award the fagade
grants for 110-128 Clarksville Street. Motion carried 4-0.
