Move to approve the appointment of the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tern to the City of Paris/PEDC Joint
Main Street Study Committee

BACKGROUND:
One of the items of reorganization of the Community Development Department is the potential of
moving the Main Street program to the Paris Economic Development Corporation (PEDC) or the City
Manager's Office. An ad hoc committee comprised of two PEDC Board Members and the Mayor and
Mayor Pro Tern is proposed to discuss the details associated with the proposed move and joint funding.
The committee would be expected to make a recommendation to both bodies regarding the proposal and
funding. On 3/16/09 the PEDC board appointed two members to serve on the committee.
