RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Deliberate and act on approval of Scott Kennedy State Farm Insurance to construct a
concrete pad for existing bleachers, construct a shade structure over the bleachers and
seed a soccer field at Dragon Park.
POLICY ISSUE(S):

BACKGROUND:
The City was approached by Scott Kennedy concerning improvements to a soccer field at
Dragon Park. Mr. Kennedy would like to construct a concrete pad to move a set of
bleachers onto them and construct a shade structure over the bleachers. He would also
like to rework a soccer field by plowing, regarding and then sprig it with bermuda.
Mr. Kennedy would like to attach a name plate on the back of the shade structure, by
ordinance a name plate up to three square feet in size is allowed (Ord. 28-37).

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE DOIVATION BY STATE FARM INSURANCE,
SCOTT KENEDY, AGENT, OF A CONCRETE PAD, BLEACHERS AND
SHADE STRUCTURE OR CANOPY OVER THE BLEACHERS AT THE
ADULT SOCCER FIELD AT DRAGOIV PARK A1VD SEEDING THE
SOCCER FIELD AT DRAGON PARK; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND
PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is in receipt of an offer from
State Farm Insurance, Scott Kennedy, Agent, to make improvements at the adult
soccer field at Dragon Park consisting of the construction of a concrete pad, bleacher
stands and a shade or canopy structure ("Improvements") for use by the visitors to
Dragon Park and the citizens of Paris; and,
WHEREAS, the specifications for the Improvements are attached hereto as
Exhibit A; and,
WHEREAS, State Farm Insurance, Scott Kennedy, Agent, has also proposed to
cut and reseed the adult soccer field at Dragon Park for the benefit of the local soccer
league and the City of Paris; and,
WHEREAS, the generosity of Scott Kennedy is appreciated and it would be in
the best interest of the citizens of Paris to accept such donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are
hereby in all things approved.
Section 2. That the construction and donation of the Improvements and the
re-seeding of the adult soccer field at Dragon Park as described herein and in the
plans and specifications attached hereto as Exhibit "A" (including any additional plans
or specifications to be submitted in the future), be, and is hereby, in all things
accepted subject to the Ciry's review, inspection and approval of all plans and
specifications and or permits related to this project.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of
passage.
