Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Paris shall meet in regular session
at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2009. The meeting will be held at the City Council
Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman Street, in Paris, Texas. The matters to be discussed and acted
upon are as follows:
Opening Agenda
1. Call meeting to order.
2. Invocation.
3. Pledge of Allegiance.
4. Citizens' forum.
(Persons desiring to address the Council must limit their presentation to no more than two
minutes. The Texas Open Meetings Act prohibits the Council from responding to any
comments other than to refer the matter to a future agenda, to an existing policy, or to a staff
person with specific factual information. Claims against the City, Council Members, or
employees, as well as individual personnel appeals are not appropriate for citizens' forum.)
5. Public Announcements.
a. Recognition of Brenda Nafe for assisting the Paris Police Department.
Consent Agenda
Items on the Consent Agenda are approved by a single action of the Council, with such approval applicable
to all items appearing on the Consent Agenda. A Council Member may request any item to be removed
from the Consent Agenda and considered as a separate item.
6. Deliberate and act on the approval of minutes from the meeting on
May 26, 2009.
7. Receive and deliberate on reports and/or minutes from the
following boards, commissions, and committees:
a. Board of Adjustment (4-7-09)
b. Lake Pat Mayse Study Committee (5-14-09)
c. Planning and Zoning Commission (5-4-09)
8. Deliberate on drainage ditch maintenance report.
9. Deliberate on Casa Bonita demolition project.
Regular Agenda
lO.First reading, deliberate and possibly act on an ordinance
amending Section 34-22(b), Water Rates and Section 34-23 (a), (b)
and (c), Sewer Rates, of Article II, of Chapter 34 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Paris establishing rates for water and
waste water services.
b. Pursuant to Section 551.087 of the Texas Government Code to
discuss and deliberate an offer of a financial or other incentive
to a business prospect to locate, stay, or expand in Lamar
County and consider any commercial and financial information
related to the business prospect.
23.Reconvene in open session to deliberate and possibly act on
matters discussed in Executive Session.
24.Consider and approve future events for City Council and/or City
Staff pursuant to Resolution No. 2004-081.
25.Adjournment.
