POLICY ISSUE(S):
Project update
BACKGROUND:
The Texas Department of Transportation Aviation Division (TxDOT) is in contract negotiations with the
firm Coffman Associates, Inc. Allowing for contracting and local funds to arrive, TxDOT expects a
kickoff ineeting for the project in early September. The total project timeline is estimated to be 38
weeks. Public participation is an important part of the project and there will be a minimum of three
meetings of the Planning Advisory Committee (comprised of local citizens, regional aviation
representatives, City staff, TxDOT, business leaders, and others) and three public information
workshops. Additionally, the study materials will be made available on a project specific web page
which will allow any interested party to view, download, and comment on the study at their
convenience.
